Natto Challenge And Why You Should Start Eating Natto

Hey guys!

Last Sunday, after practice for my upcoming musical Fame #shamelesspromotion, me and my friends were hanging around Papaya minimart, and I found Natto! And being such a silly youth I am, I decided to make a Natto Challenge video with my friends and challenge them to finish the infamous fermented beans the result is this full of bleeps video :

Long story short, my friends hates me now, and i need to find new friends, anybody wanna be my friends? :'(

All the stinky-ness aside, I did some research on Natto, and boy am I glad to have finished all those beans! Because it really have a lot of health benefit! Let's get to know Natto shall we?

Natto is a Japanese traditional dish, made from soy beans fermented with Bacillus Subtilis it's a gram positive, catalese positive bacteria, which can be found in soil and also in our gastrointestinal, A.K.A our digestion system, so eating this will support our organs to work better on our digestion system! It's also rich in k2 vitamins that can help reduce bone loss during menopause on women until 80%, it also contains vitamin C which is good for our skin and immunity, it has lots of fiber too! I'm seriously going to start eating this more often, so far i can only found it at Papaya Minimart, and Kashiya restaurant in Little Tokyo which I will do the vlog later!

And I challenge all of you to eat this smelly dish full of vitamins!

Food Review : Culinary Tour Around Mangga Besar!

FOOODDDD!!!!!

It's the best thing in the world, don't you agree? Last Monday me and my friends wen't to have some Girls Night Out and did a culinary tour around Mangga Besar.

Mangga Besar is a very popular Red Light District in Jakarta, that place is always so packed with people! Because not only there are a lot of "Night Entertainments" but also a lot of great foods! In this video, i'm taking you to 2 of my favourite restaurants to get munchies!

Our first stop is Cong Sim Noodle Restaurant!

It's a small restaurant that sells various food, not only noodle, but the most favourite menu is the noodle

Their noodle has a unique texture, it's thin but tough, but not in the bad way, rather in a crispy-crunchy-ish way? Gosh, I'm still bad on describing stuff hahaha~

The noodle came with a lot of toppings, some red pork, chicken, fried shallots, leeks, veggies and the best thing human ever invented : FRIED PORK FAT. Now, a lot of Chinese LOVES to eat fried pork fat, it has a strong flavour and a very mouth watering scent, that goes well on savoury dishes, however, some find it too strong, and for some people who have never tried it, they might not like it at the start, but most of those people will come to like it in the eventually, Chinese dishes uses a lot of pork fat as their natural MSG, because it juicily enhance the flavour of the dishes :D

This noodle is not the exception, the addition of the pork fat to the noodle really enhance the flavour tremendously, the broth is has a mild flavour to compliments the noodle, and you can add pickled chilies which is an amazing pair with the noodle.

Our next stop, is this Suikiaw Restaurant called Super Suikiaw, also my favourite :9

They have other menus except Suikiaw, but I will focus on the Suikiaws this time :D

We ordered a mixed plate with pork and seafood filling

Very mouthwatering! The juices which came out from the pork and chicory is incredible, totally reccomended! The seafood one has some chives, prawns and squid, it's also delicious, but my all time favourite is still the pork one!

Have any of you came to this area? do you have a favourite place to eat? comment below and let me know! and go to this video for the full report on the culinary tour:

How To Make : Eggnog!

I'm back with more recipe video!

Last week I filmed the how to make a Pointe Shoes shaped Shortcake and I ended up with some leftover Egg Yolks, and as a proud Asian #eaa i don't want to waste it, so I decided to turn those Egg Yolks into Eggnog!

For my fellow reader/viewer who might not know what an Eggnog is, it's an American drink, made from milk, cream and egg yolks, this is a festive drink that is popular during Christmas and winter, it's not common in Indonesia, my American friends did occasionally find it in some western supermarket, but it's really overpriced, and I have always wanted to try Eggnog, but I ain't buying those overpriced drink if I can make it myself! It's really easy too! And waaaaayyyyy cheaper than the ones they sell in those overpriced Bule supermarket, lol go to this link for the step by step video:

What you'll need are:

- 3 eggyolks
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 cup of cream
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 nutmeg
- 1 tiny stick of cinnamon
- 1 shot of cinnamon vodka

STEPS:

1. Grate all the spices as fine as possible
2. Whisk together the yolks and sugar
3. In a medium sized pan, mix in the milk and cream, and bring to simmer, while whisking using medium low heat.
4. Mix in the spices to the milk mixture, and simmer them whilst occasionally stir it for 2 minutes.
5. Whilst whisking the egg mixture, pour in the milk, then pour the eggnog back to the pan, and heat it until it thicken
6. Pour the eggnog into a glass, then mix in the vodka, and you're done!

Isn't it easy AF? hahaha, so quick too, and the best part is: you can add as much alcohol as you desire, traditionally, American uses Rum for Eggnog, but my friend Indira happened to have a cinnamon vodka, which i think will taste INCREDIBLE with this, and guess what? I WAS RIGHT

If you're able to get some cinnamon vodka i recommend you to use it for Eggnog, it's so good!
I hoope you guys like the video! and I'm making more recipe and food adventure for my channel, stay tune! if you like it, please like, share and subscribe! See ya!

Hey guys,

It's been ages huh? I was about to give up my passion and work in a corporate world but then my heart win in the end, hahaha~

As a start for me to pursue my passion, I'm making a series of Youtube Cooking Show!!! It's all on my channel, please come and visit! 1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
4 eggs
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of salt

Pink Fondant
White Fondant
