Today i want to share another recipe, there's a backstory to this recipe, so once upon a time, me and my mother ate at this fancy restaurant where they serve this amazing pasta aglio olio, it was so good! But too pricey for me to go eat there often, so i decided to re-create the pasta myself! Took me a while... But i finally made it!
The original one is with smoked beef, but i'm actually not a big fan of meat so i use mushroom as substitute, and to me i tasted WAY better because the mushrooms adds more flavour and fragrance :)
Okay enough talking, let's get cooking!
What you'll need are:
- a big pot
- a stove (duh)
- a sharp knife
- a cutting board
- a rinser
- a pan
The ingredients are:
- 4 to 8 finely sliced cloves of garlic (depending on the size, indonesian garlic are super tiny)
- 3 tbs of olive oil
- salt
- grinded pepper
- grinded black pepper
- dried oregano
- dried basil
- chili flakes
- 5 sliced shitake mushrooms(or as much as you like)- a handfull of dried spaghetti pasta
This recipe is for 1 person
Step by step:
- fill your pot with water and boil it, then put in your dried pasta and boil for 13-15 minutes then rinse it (if you made your own pasta then feel free to skip this step)
- heat up your pan in medium heat, pour in the olive oil, after the oil is hot put in the garlics, fry untill they start to brown
Like that
- put in the mushrooms, season with salt, peppers, black pepper, oregano, basil and chili flakes, just put in a little by little, usually i just eyeballed it and took a taste once in a while, plus everybody have different preferences in spices :D stir fry the mushrooms untill they shrinked, you can add water if the heat is too high.
- lower the heat and mix in the pasta, stir everything untill well combined, then serve!
I really love this recipe because it's very rich in flavour, and it's also healthy! And did i mention that this is vegan?
