This time I want to share with you guys how to make a Totoro cake!
For starters, let us make the cake first shall we?
now, this cake recipe is my favourite, it's a fail proof chiffon cake recipe! what you will need are:
Tools:
2 large bowls
an electric mixer (if you don't have it, you can use whisk, but it'll be so tiring)
a whisk
a spatula
9 inch pan
Ingredients:
9 egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
300 gr sugar (separate into half)
7 egg yolks
180 ml milk
60 ml oil
280 gr flour
2 1/4 baking powder
3/4 kosher salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Steps:
1. In a large bowl, pour in the egg whites, then beat the egg whites with electric mixer until frothy, then add cream of tartar, and beat until foamy, then add the 150 gr sugar a little by little beat it until it reaches stiff peaks.
2. In another large bowl, pour in the egg yolks, then mix in the sugar and whisk until well combined, then add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract, whisk them all until well combined.
3. Add the flour, salt, and baking powder into the egg yolk mixture, make sure you add the flour a little by little, then whisk until well combined.
4. Fold in the egg yolk mixture into the flour-yolk mixture until well combined, slowly, you don't want to push away the air.
5. Pour in the cake batter into a buttered and floured pan, then bake in 170 celsius for 50-55 minutes.
