[REVIEW] Lancome Hypnose Star Waterproof Mascara VS Dollywink Long LashMascara

Good afternoon everybody! Today i wanna give a review about two mascaras (yes, two) they're Lancome's Hypnose Star Waterproof Mascara and Dolywink's Long Lash Mascara(also waterproof)

Here's what they looked like:

This is how the lancome's wand looks like:

I like this wand,it's fat on the side and gets tinier on the end, making it easier to apply the inner side of our lashes

And here's dollywink's wand:

It's flat and tiny, and it's great for asian eyes...because most of asian girls has a tiny eyes so this tiny wand can easily reach the lashes :D

As you can see, in both wands there are fibres which help our lashes looked longer :D

And here's the front view

On the left is dolly wink and the right one is lancome, such difference huh? Well the lenght is actually the same when you look on the side, but the lancome hold curls more than dollywink

(Dollywink)
(Lancome)
Bottom view (see? Not much difference in length)

(Left: dollywink | Right: lancome)
Upper view, it looks different because lancome realy curls my lashes that it looked more shorter

Now the reviews:

Both are waterproof! I have a very teary eyes and also i wore these mascaras for dance practices and shows, these mascara didn't smudge at all~

BUT the dollywink actually came off easy whenever i accidentally rub my eye

Both made my lashes longer!

Lancome hold curls better and longer than dollywink

BUT lancome is harder to clean, while with dollywink, you just need to gently tap it with mascara remover :D

Pros:
Lancome:
-holds curl better
-makes your lashes longer
-waterproof
-long lasting

Dollywink
-make your
 lashes longer
-waterproof
-easy to remove
-small wand, making it easier to apply for asian eyes
-long lasting

Cons
Lancome:
-pricey
-hard to remove

Dollywink:
-could be easily removed if we rub it
-didn't hold curl so well

Well that's all i gotta say for these two...
I really don't know which one will i buy again because both are great and not so great...what do you think? maybe you guys can help me decide? Just post a comment below ;)

[RECIPE] Cherry Shortcake

Greetings everyone! Now, we all know that there is a special day in february, yep, Valentine's day! XD

Today i want to share a Cherry Shortcake recipe! Because i got this cute jar of cherries that i got from my friends at Athens when i danced there, thank you my friends! Greetings from indonesia, the cherries are awesome! Hope to see you again:D

So here it goes!

What you'll need are:

7" round pan
2 bowl
1 small bowl
Heart shaped cookie cutter

Cake:

2 eggs
250 gr flour
8 gr baking powder
20 gr salt
200 gr sugar
115 gr unsalted butter(melted)
4 gr vanila extract
500-550 ml milk (or as needed)

Buttercream:

200 gr icing sugar
100 gr unsalted butter
4 gr vanilla extract
1-2 tsp whip cream (or as needed)
A jar of cherry(for filling,as needed)

The steps are:

Cake:

1. Pre heat the oven untill 180 celcius then mix flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl

2. In separated bowl mix the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and melted butter untill creamy

3. Add the mixed flour mixture into the eggs mixture little by little and slowly pour the milk untill the texture is thick and creamy then pour it to the greased pan (i can't find my round pan when i made this because my mom borrowed it, so i had to use this) then bake it inside the oven for 30-40 minutes

4. While waiting let's start on the cream, mix the sugar, vanilla extract and butter while slowly pour the whipped cream untill creamy

5. For fillings, eparate some of the cream and put on the cherries(crushed) and mix it with spatula(and yes my cream in this picture is runny but you can dry 'em on a filter later)

6. After the cake is baked, wait for it to cool and cut it with the cookie cutter

7. Fill the cherry cream filling

8. And decorate the cake with the rest of the cream~ (yeah i know mine is a little messy because i'm not too god at decorating, but the important one is the taste, i'll keep practicing!!)

And there you go! A cherry shortcake~
That's all i want to share for now, if any of the you try this recipe, please do tell me your result and your opinion :)

[REVIEW] Early Birthday Beauty Haul [and presents!!] Part 1 The Body Shop

February is here!!!! Which means it's shopping time!!! As a dancer and entertainer i have to stock more make up and beauty stuff than normal people...(but not as much as a proffesional Make Up Artist though) and that's why i LOVE February <3 no,it's not because there's valentine day and i can ask my boyfriend to buy me stuff...nope...i'm not that kind of girl...besides i never had a boyfriend so i don't have the chance to be that kind of girl....T_____T oh well~

ANYWAYS!! The reason why i love February so much is because...it's my birthday! and that means...I GOT MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNT AT MY FAVORITE MAKE UP AND SKINCARE SHOP!!!
I'm soo excited! I started my beauty haul with The Body Shop because my skin care is running low...so here's what i bought:

I've always been a big fan of The Body Shop skin cares, because they use organic ingredients and it feel so gentle in my skin and after using it for years i do have a better skin than most of my friends even though i use more make up than them :3 that's why the first time they launch a membership system i just have to get it! I know the discount is not much(15%) but hey it's better than no discount at all, right?

Now let me break down the products first : The Nutriganics Drops Of Youth, Nutriganic Day Cream and Night Cream

The Nutriganics Drops Of Youth

Ingredients: Water,Alcohol Denat,Glycerin,Chondrus Crispus Powder, Propadeniol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Benzyl Alcohol, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Adenosine, Perfume, Linalool, Crithmum Maritimum Callus Culture Filtrate, Oribignya Oleifera Seed Oil, Citric acid, Citronellol, Buddej Davidii Extract, Malva Sylvestris Extract, Thymus Vulgaris Extract, Benzoic Acid, sorbic Acid, Lomomene, Sodium Benzoate

This product is a pre-serum that you use before you use your serum or other cream, the company claimend it will help your skin to absorb the product better and regenerate your skin from the inside.

As you can see there are 2 types of Alcohol in this product, which may sound dangerous but as i googled and asked my doctor friends i found out that alcohol denat is not dangerous, this ingredient is useful to deliver the active ingredient of a product it also can help treat acnes, while Benzyl Alcohol may be a threat for some people who is allergic to it or have a very sensitive skin if is used a lot or consumed a lot, Benzyl Alcohol can be found in ylang - ylang and jasmine oils , it also can be found in green tea or other teas so i guess as long as there are no huge amount is being used or consumed by normal or sensitive/allergic people it should be save it's used as a perserpative and solvent (well duh all alcohol is used for that) i have a normal - dry skin so i don't know how it'll affect people with sensitive skin, but in my skin, it didn't give any effect, also in my opinion these two alcohols is the ones helping the product to absorb quicker in the skin and didn't feel greasy or sticky.

There are some natural extracts the the company claims to be 100% natural ingredient, and one of them are cells of plants that help regenerating the plants body, which they believe can also help the human skin to regenerate....well i don't know if i believe it's true but my skin does feels great after i use it, i have use it for almost 3 weeks now, the first time i use it is a few days after i do my volunteer work for the flood victims in a remote place and got major sunburns all over my body and face, my face got the worst sun burn...i looked like i'm wearing blush on all the time...then after a few days i looked like i wear bronzer all the time...all over my face and nose...and my skin starts to peel off so i decided to go to The Body Shop and look for a skin care that can help my poor face, and the sales assistant recommended this product, after a few days i feel my skin is way better now, my skin is more moisture and the peeling stops, the sun burn is also getting better and by now it's already gone.

You can really instantly feel your skin is smoother and firm-er right after using the product! i just need 2-3 drops of it to cover my face and neck, the product also didn't feel sticky, and it smell like a plant...but pleasant, not weird smelling :D i use it 2 times a day, without any other serum (because i was waiting for my birthday discount) and i'm already satisfied by the effect it gave me, i also bought the Nutriganics day cream and night cream, i know i'm still in my early 20 but using make up in a lot of amount and oftenly may give a bad effect to my skin...that's why i chose the Nutriganics so i can avoid the early aging phase.

I just bought the Nutriganic day and night cream so i don't have any reviews yet. but i will give a review after a few weeks using them, because that's when the product should really start showing effects.

Next one is:
Vitamin E Cream Cleanser and Toner

The Vitamin E line are the first products that i bought from The Body Shop, because i used to have a terrible dry skin and my skin looked so dull because of the pollution and make ups and poor treatment from me...*selfslap* and that's why i need Vitamin E! as everybody knows, Vitamin E is great for the skin ;D it moisturize and keep skin healthy.

This product may not have the most pleasant smell...but they really work in moisturizing my skin! it brings my horrible skin back to normal! i used the day and nigh cream for years before i finally changed to the Vitamin C and finally change to Nutriganics, too bad i can't show you the picture of my super dry skin that almost look like a snake skin...this product line may be the best one yet to help moisture our skin :D, i bought the cleanser and the toner, because the one that i used before made my skin itch and break out :( it's from a local brand called Sari Ayu, i guess the ingredients is not suitable for me :( too bad cause it's way more cheaper and has a pleasant smell hehehheh.

Next one is:

Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish

My favorite! it has beads that feels great when we scrub our face with the product, i always use this whenever i got sun burn, because it can remove dead cells and help to bring back my natural color quicker, because of the Vitamin C the smell is pleasant too! like oranges :D

Last one is:

The Body Shop Japanese Blossom Body Butter

My All time favorite!! the first time they came out of the store i fell in love instantly the fragrance is soooo pleasant and the body butter also moisture our skin better than the lotion, the smell is really good and i feel like i can fell asleep and went to heavenly dreamland if i use this~

So~ that's pretty much all i got to say for today :D
oh right, i also have a birthday discount for Etude House (50%), Tony Moly(35%), and Sari Ayu(10-15%) so for all of you girls in Indonesia who wants to buy those product with my birthday discount you can ask me by the comment or mention me at my twitter @Jacq_tanoto or add my line at Jacqueline.g.tanoto ;D the promo last for one month :D

ciao for now!
